Local TV News Promos from NBC, CBS, Scripps, Gray and Tegna Stations
By Paul Greeley
Today’s News Blues is the only place that shares local TV news promos of every kind from around the country that readers can see, admire, emulate, criticize, dissect and steal.
I am connected to 18,142 people on LinkedIn, many of whom are in the broadcast industry.
So, I get to see what these people post on LinkedIn and it has become THE place for television news and marketing folks to share their work.
They value exposure because they’re proud of what they’ve created.
Local TV marketing and creative services folks love to see the creative promos done by other stations around the country.
We look for ideas, premises, copy points, production tips, etc. that we can borrow and customize for our station.

Tim Howick, VP of marketing and brand at KNBC, NBC4 Los Angeles, posted on social media that he’s “proud of the NBCLA creative team for the care they put into this campaign focused on helping those impacted by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. Grateful to see their work recognized with an Emmy nomination — but even more proud of the purpose behind it.”

Shannon Keenan Demers, the director of brand strategy and management at KCBS, CBS LA, posted this promo to social media saying she’s often asked about her transition from unscripted to news marketing.
“I can say that it was made easy thanks to the stellar team at CBS LA. Every single day I get to see their dedication to telling the stories of the community we serve. Last week’s water main break in West Hollywood is just one of so many examples of the incredible work this team does every single day.”
KNXV, ABC15 Arizona, the Scripps station in Phoenix, posted this promo on social media that “we believe local journalism starts with listening. When neighbors flag community concerns, our team goes straight to local leaders to find answers. We don’t just report on the problems; we follow through to ensure accountability and help you understand what’s coming next.”

Also from KNXV, ABC15 Arizona, the Scripps station in Phoenix, Jose Ochoa, Scripps’ regional creative services director, posted this promo saying “Mesa, Chandler, Glendale and everywhere in between. ABC15 Arizona is listening across the Valley and covering the stories that matter in every community. Thanks to the ABC15 Creative Services team for producing another great spot!”

Javohn Cayton, a digital marketing and communications specialist at WBRC, Gray’s Fox affiliate in Birmingham, posted this promo.
“Here’s a fun streaming platform campaign where viewers “click” WBRC on their smart TV and the news team instantly gets zapped from real life into live coverage. One click turns everyday moments into ‘streaming now’ moments, reinforcing that getting local streaming content on WBRC is simple, free, and available 24/7.”

Ysenia Anais Mullen, a special projects lead for Tegna posted two promos for KENS, Tegna’s station in San Antonio.
In the first, Mullen writes “There’s something special about telling the story of someone who truly believes in serving their community.”
I’m excited to share KENS’ new weather campaign featuring Chief Meteorologist Bill Taylor. His dedication extends far beyond the forecast, he genuinely cares about the people who count on him every day, and it was an honor to help bring that story to life.
I had the opportunity to write and edit this campaign and it wouldn’t have been possible without an incredible team. Hai Le’s cinematography gave the piece its heart and visual impact, while Andrew Mattingly’s coordination kept every moving part on track from start to finish.
A sincere thank you to Hemisfair and Krystina Sibley for welcoming us into one of San Antonio’s most iconic spaces. The backdrop helped showcase the city we love while complementing Bill’s story in a meaningful way. Grateful to collaborate with talented people who care deeply about creating work with purpose. Looking forward to sharing more of what we’ve been building!
In the second spot, Mullen wrote she had the chance to “cut this one for KENS after an incredibly busy weather morning. From tornado coverage to flooding, the team stayed on the air, adapting in real time to keep the community informed.
Proud to help highlight the work they do and play a small part in telling their story.”
