Rachel Linden Promoted to VP and News Director of Fox Stations in Orlando and Gainesville

Rachel Linden has been promoted to Vice President and News Director of FOX 35 WOFL, FOX 35 Plus WRBW, and FOX 51 WOGX, announced station Senior Vice President and Regional General Manager, Melissa Medalie.

Effective immediately, Linden will oversee all editorial, business, and administrative functions for the news operations at these stations, reporting directly to Medalie.

In making the announcement, Medalie stated, “Rachel is a driving force for newsroom innovation and high-impact journalism. Her deep commitment to our local communities and strong strategic vision make her uniquely qualified to steer our team forward.”

Linden has been with FOX 35 Orlando since 2019.

She began at the station as a Producer, before being promoted to Executive Producer, and most recently, has spent the last two years as Managing Editor.

Prior to joining the station, Linden held the role of Producer at WBRE/WYOU-TV in Wilkes-Barre, PA, WKYT-TV in Lexington, KY, and KNDU-TV in Tri-Cities, WA.

She began her career in broadcasting as a producer, anchor, editor and crew member for WOUB Center for Public Media in Athens, OH.

A graduate of Ohio University, Linden holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Linden added, “I am thrilled to take the reins as we embrace new ways to tell impactful stories. Our focus is clear: push the boundaries of newsroom innovation while continuing to serve Central Florida on all platforms with the coverage they deserve.”
