By Paul Greeley

Jeff Herman has been a producer, executive producer, managing editor and assistant news director at WMAR, Scripps’ ABC affiliate in Baltimore, since he started there in 2003.

Now, Herman can add news director at WMAR to the list.

Matt Miller, talent acquisition leader at Scripps, posted on social media that Herman as the asst. news director, “he has helped lead content and newsroom operations, guided investigative work, developed managers and advanced the newsroom’s evolution into a continuous, multiplatform operation serving audiences across broadcast, digital and streaming.”

Herman began his career as an associate producer at WPMT in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

In his free time, Jeff enjoys hunting, fishing and playing games with friends and family.

Herman will succeed Kelly Groft, who is leaving Scripps next month.

Throughout her time at the station, Miller wrote, “Kelly has been deeply committed to developing her team and creating opportunities for people to grow. Jeff’s promotion is a meaningful reflection of that commitment and of the strong leadership foundation she has helped build.”
