There’s a rumor that News Nation’s news director has resigned  – and just five months after launching.

Sandy Pudar, who oversaw the launch of the three-hour primetime newscasts allegedly quit on Tuesday.

Pudar came to the network from WGN-TV with Jennifer Lyons, who is now the Vice President of news for News Nation.

As for the reason? NewsNation and Nexstar, the company’s parent company, won’t comment on personnel issues.

She’s been with WGN in Chicago since 1999. She left the station briefly and returned to eventually become the assistant news director.

This comes just weeks before the planned expansion of the cable network. The station is adding two more hours of news and nightly talk show programming hosted by Ashleigh Banfield on March 1.
