FROM KANSAS TO BOSTON … LEVEL UP
NBC Sports announced earlier this year that it’s shutting down.
But that won’t impact the regional networks, which operate as separate entities.
And NBC Sports Boston has announced the hire of a new multi-platform host and on-air talent.
Amina Smith comes to Beantown from Chicago, where she was the host for the digital network Stadium.
She’ll host the new season of the Celtics Post-up when it returned at 7:00 p.m. on March 18. She’ll also contribute to different shows across the network.
“Amina brings an exciting energy and presence to our network,” said Kevin Miller, VP of Content Creation and Strategy, NBC Sports Boston. “Her enthusiasm for creating content along with her ability to tell stories is sure to engage fans. Our network welcomes Amina into the family and we look forward to the impact she’ll be making for years to come.”
Smith is a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. She graduated from the University of Miami where she took on several production and on-air roles for networks like NBC, ESPNU, FOX, and her campus station UMTV.
She started on-air at 6 News in Lawrence, Kan.,
