WHEN YOUR HOUSE IS THE CENTER OF THE STORM
Well-respected ABC 33-40 Birmingham, Ala. meteorologist James Spann worked tirelessly late last week to save his viewers and his family as major tornados came through the area.
Spann’s home was hit as he was forecasting on live TV when he mentioned the neighborhood he lives in.
Spann had recently built a home and put a tornado shelter inside the space. That’s where he says his wife went while the storm passed.
Luckily, he says they won’t have to rebuild but the home did suffer damage.
Had a scare today. As I often say, tornadoes happen to real people, at a real place, at a real time. pic.twitter.com/uoGxcKAJZE

After his post, meteorologists and news friends across the country commented on his commitment and bravery.
“So glad you are ok, my friend. You are a hero. Sending love to you and your family,” Fox News meteorologist Janice Dean wrote.
