MOVING UP IN NORFOLK
In Norfolk, a new meteorologist has been named before the current chief leaves.
After 40 years on the air at WAVY-TV, Don Slater is preparing for retirement.
He’ll spend a year forecasting at the Norfolk station before calling it quits.
Slater will do the 4, 5pm on WAVY and 6:30 show on FOX43.
In the meantime, Jeff Edmondson will take the chief meteorologist title. He worked at WAVY from 2012-2015, left and then returned in 2019.
Edmondson will start to do the later shows, 5:30, 6 and 11pm show immediately.
