HURRICANE FORCE WINDS SWEAPS WEATHER CHANNEL’S JIM CANTORE OFF HIS FEET
In a live report today, around 3:50 p.m. from Punta Gorda, Fla., Jim Cantore tried to test the winds of Hurricane Ian.
The seasoned weather chaser was going live on location along US41 when he noticed conditions calming. He stepped out into the street after him and his photographer had taken cover under a building overhang. When he did, he mad mention that the winds had calmed for the first time. Just as he was saying it, the winds picked up big time, swept him off his feet and luckily he was able to grab onto the pole of a street sign. In the meantime, down I-75 meteorologist Mike Seidel and Stephanie Abrams are also on the West Coast of Florida.
Seidel was there when the eyeball hit in Fort Myers, Fla.
