FORMER WICHITA ANCHOR ANNOUNCES MAYORAL RUN
Lily Wu exited the anchor chair at Gray’s KWCH in Wichita, KS almost exactly a month ago, saying she was exploring the idea of running for the city’s mayoral chair.
Exploration over.
Wu announced over the weekend that she will file to run for mayor in an August primary in what promises to be a crowded field.
She made her announcement in front of a crowd of about 300 people – a decent turnout for this kind of event.
Four candidates have already announced their intentions, including the incumbent mayor.
Over the past 12 years, Wu was an anchor and reporter, first for Lockwood’s KAKE and then for KWCH for the past three years.
