CAN NEWSNATION REALLY BE INTERESTED IN THESE TWO?

As Nexstar’s NewsNation embarks on becoming a 24-hour all-news network this week, the ratings-challenged network is said to be very interested in both Tucker Carlson and Don Lemon.

No, it’s not April 1^st.

Nexstar executives are already huddling to see if they can come up with a way to land one or both.

Now no one expects NewsNation to come up with the $20 million a year Carlson was pulling down at FOX or even the paltry $7 million per annum Lemon was squeezing out of CNN.

But since NewsNation already has its share of high-profile personalities carrying their own baggage around, it’s probably a case of “in for a penny, in for a pound” to try and do anything….ANYTHING….to get people to watch the low-rated network.

Hiring either of them would put the final nail in Nexstar’s laughable claim that it is about straight down-the-middle reporting.

But it would take the heat off Chris Cuomo.
