MISSING ANCHOR’S LENGTHY ABSENCE EXPLAINED

Heidi Voight has been absent from the morning anchor desk at NBC’s WVIT in Hartford-New Haven, CT since February without a hint of an explanation.

Until this week.

When Voight’s mother died February 20 at her home in Vermont, it was tragic enough news to take Voight out of the tv loop to deal with her and her family’s loss.

But then a few days later, an autopsy revealed 73-year-old Claudia Voight’s death was not due to natural causes.

She had been strangled to death.

Heidi Voight went from a bereaved daughter to something indescribably painful.

Police investigating her mother’s murder don’t believe it was a random killing and that there is no danger to the public at large.

But no suspect has been identified nor is one in custody.

Voight remains off the air.
