HE SAID GOODBYE TO TV NEWS AFTER 24 YEARS
Ashly Elam was still attending university when he joined KBMT in Beaumont, TX as a tape editor back in 1999.
Except for a year and a half of working for a regional sports publication in 2017-2019, it was the only place he worked, eventually becoming the Tegna station’s sports director.
He chucked it all this summer to become director of communications for the Hardin-Jefferson Independent School District.
From the look of things, his change of scenery has been good for him.
