Bill Anderson, KQRE Albuquerque General Manager, Passes Away

Bill Anderson, general manager at KQRE, Nexstar’s CBS and Fox-affiliated stations in Albuquerque, has died.

Jessica Garate, the main weekday evening news anchor, posted this on her Facebook page.

I am deeply heartbroken to share that Bill Anderson, our beloved KRQE general manager, has passed away.

Bill was not just an extraordinary boss, but also an incredible friend and mentor.

For more than 20 years, he played a pivotal role in my life, both professionally and personally.

Bill believed in me and gave me countless opportunities, including making me the main anchor.

Under his leadership, KRQE rose to the top, not just because of his expertise in news, but because of the genuine care he had for every single employee.

He was a man of deep faith, often giving people second chances and believing in their potential.

Beyond the newsroom, Bill was always there for me. I could walk into his office anytime, knowing I’d find support and understanding.

I will forever be grateful for the impact he had on my career and for the friendship we shared.

Bill, you will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on in all of us who were fortunate enough to know you.
