Former Pittsburgh TV and Radio News Reporter Dies

Anne Linaberger, former WTAE reporter and executive producer has died.
Beginning in 1984, Linaberger was news anchor at WAMO Pittsburgh (105.9 FM and 860 AM) for about 6 years before moving out to Ardmore Boulevard in 1989 to become anchor/reporter and public affairs host for WTAE-AM (1250) and WVTY-FM (96.1).
Her television career began in the 1980s as a reporter at WDTV in Clarksburg, WV.
She later returned to Pittsburgh in the early 90s as a reporter and later executive producer at WTAE-TV and WTAE Radio. She also worked at Pittsburgh’s WAMO Radio for a time.
In 1998, Linaberger moved to KDKA-TV as the Executive Producer of Special Projects.
She was later promoted to Assistant News Director and eventually News Director for nearly 10 years.
Since leaving the station in 2018, she held the position of vice-president at C4CS coaching organization employees in media training and presentation skills training.
The Mid-Atlantic Emmy Chapter announced her passing in a post Saturday, saying “she left an imprint on the Pittsburgh media landscape, without question,” we are “saddened to share the news (of her passing).”
Linaberger was a graduate of Penn Hills High School and Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania, the post said.
There is no word as to the cause of death.
