KADN, Allen Media’s Fox and MyNetworkTV affiliate in Lafayette, was recently honored by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters for having the Best Newscast in the state of Louisiana for a second straight year.

In 2024, KADN “topped its competitors not only in Lafayette, but in all other TV markets in the state – from New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Shreveport, to Lake Charles, Alexandria and Monroe – to take home the top honor for news excellence from the LAB,” says Jim Parker, KADN’s GM.

In 2025, KADN got the nod for Best Newscast in the small market bracket.

KADN, News 15 is the home of Acadiana’s most experienced anchor team. Marcelle Fontenot and Jim Hummel have been delivering the stories that matter to local viewers for well over a decade.

They are the anchors that our community “knows and trusts,” Parker says.

The pair anchor News 15 weeknights at 4, 5, 6, 9 & 10. They’re joined by meteorologist “Doppler Dan” Romano, who delivers Acadiana’s most accurate and dependable forecast.

In addition, KADN, News 15 has also been honored by the LAB for the state’s Best Investigative Reporting in the small market bracket.

This includes exposing a loophole in state law that has allowed for deceased persons to be cremated by local coroners without sufficient efforts to contact next of kin, as well as uncovering that the death of a local SWAT officer involved in a standoff resulted from friendly fire. Lafayette’s mayor-president brought in an outside SWAT review agency in the wake of News 15’s reporting.
