WISN, Hearst’s ABC affiliate in Milwaukee and The Salvation Army are partnering for the 12th consecutive year on the ‘Class Act School Supply Drive.’

The inspiring initiative collects donations to ensure students across Milwaukee County and Waukesha County have the supplies they need to start the school year. Donations can be made now by visiting http://wisn.com/classact or by texting “WISN” to the number 24365. Then on Wednesday, August 20th, 2025, from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., WISN 12 will collect contributions through their phone bank.

“This will make a lasting impact on the education of local kids, and we need your help,” says Shawn Oswald, president and general manager of WISN 12. “Your donations mean that area children will be able to learn, grow, and flourish this school year.”

Through the ‘Class Act School Supply Drive,’ students are provided with essential school supplies that will set them up for classroom success. The campaign will fill backpacks to help thousands of children across Southeastern Wisconsin. Backpacks will include critical tools such as pens, pencils, markers, crayons, glue sticks, highlighters, and more. Donations of $25 will provide one student with a backpack full of supplies, while a $500 donation provides supply backpacks for an entire classroom.

“We’ve been blown away by the generosity of our viewers for more than a decade,” states Oswald. “WISN 12 and The Salvation Army are extremely proud of this campaign and can’t wait to see how people come together to support the community this year.”

Launched in 2013, the ‘Class Act School Supply Drive’ has now provided an equivalent of more than 35,000 stuffed backpacks for area students in need. Since the campaign was started more than a decade ago, the WISN 12 initiative has raised more than $619,000.
