Talent Dynamics, a leader in placement and coaching in the broadcast industry for over 30 years, is announcing a brand-new membership program designed for journalists who want to move faster and climb higher: TD Insider.

In January, Talent Dynamics is launching TD Insider, a new membership program designed for TV journalists who want to move faster and climb higher.

“Here’s a way to skyrocket your career by getting insider information and coaching information,” says Sorboni Banerjee, the VP of Talent Development at Talent Dynamics.  “For TV journalists stuck in the job search, here’s a tool that actually helps.”

Among the features included with TD Insider is “First-Look Job Alerts,” where members can see partner-station openings before they go public.

“If you’re part of TD Insider, you will get access so you can be at the front of the line,” Banerjee says. “It’s real life help for news pros trying to break into their next role.”

Another part that comes with TD Insider is “Hot Mic Sessions”, which are monthly virtual meetups with TD leadership, Emmy-winning coaches, and hiring insiders covering job forecasts, producing trends, and performance strategy.

“It’s people in the industry who have their ear to the ground who can talk about trends, who can talk about movers and shakers, anything that people need to be aware of,” Banerjee says.

Those who have signed up for TD Insider also get “Reel Reviews”, personalized feedback every quarter to keep your reel sharp and your brand stronger.

“Everybody I’ve coached asks me to evaluate their resume reel,” Banerjee says.

TD Insider also includes Insider “Learning Vault”, micro-training, tools, and a private space to connect with other pros on the rise.

“We have heard through our coaching and conversations with people in the industry that there is a need for professional development,” she says.

And being a TD Insider gives you access to News Blues, a website updated daily with television industry news so you stay plugged in and have access to hiring contacts.

Banerjee, a coach with 22 years of TV broadcasting experience, has been helping the free members of Talent Dynamics with storytelling and live on-camera performance delivery.

Her interaction with news talent, anchors and reporters, can last from a week or just a few days.

She can help one on one or with the whole team.

“I try to make tangible improvements they can do, with actionable steps we can follow up on,” she says. “The clients who do virtual follow ups do really well.”

She helps stations’ reporters be authoritative yet relatable and works with news anchors to develop chemistry on the news set.

“It’s consulting and coaching,” she says. “It depends on what the station wants. There is no one size fits all.”

She says being relatable is one of the biggest challenges right now.

“We’re changing the way our news anchors connect with our viewers,” she says. “How do you make it fascinating? How do you make that viewer feel a part of the conversation?”

Many of her clients push for authenticity in the news.

Her recommendations include a “story telling style that makes the viewer feel like a more active participant in the process.”

She hosts virtual meetups where we have “a professional group of peers who come up with ideas together and then talk through some of those strategies.”

Banerjee says she sits down with reporters and anchors and they watch tape together, giving them advice on storytelling, on air presence and delivery.

In addition to coaching and mentoring, Talent Dynamics provides news organizations, stations and ownership groups with a curated list of the best possible candidates for who they’re looking for, a personalized, vetted staffing.

“What we’re doing is creating a resource for our clients and a path forward for our members.” she says.
