Four local TV station meteorologists at stations in Dallas, Houston, Cincinnati and Columbus are making a move, some departing the station and one merely moving to the morning news.

Jerry Martz is leaving WBNS, Tegna’s CBS affiliate in Columbus, Ohio, took to social media top make his announcement with a holiday farewell.

Julia Fife is leaving KDFW, the Fox-owned affiliate in Dallas.

“What an honor it has been to work alongside legends in this industry that I’ve looked up to for so many years,” Fife wrote in a Monday post to Facebook.

It’s unclear what Fife’s next move entails. She arrived at the station this summer from Fox 13 in Memphis, where she was a meteorologist. It was a homecoming of sorts for Fife, who was a traffic anchor for KDFW-TV between 2018 and 2019.

Allison Gargaro, a Houston native, is wrapping up her temporary weather run at KRIV, FOX 26, the Fox-owned affiliate in Houston

She has been covering weather while meteorologist Allison Gargaro was on maternity leave.

“Officially my last week here at FOX 26 Houston,” Galyean wrote on social media. “Allison will be returning from leave soon and Friday January 2nd will be my last day before I head back to Oklahoma.”

Galyean joined the station in late September, stepping into the role as Gargaro and her husband, Gilbert Gimore, welcomed their first child, Chloe Jane, on Sept. 10.

A WLWT meteorologist is on the move, but he’s not leaving the station. Instead, he’s “replacing goodnight with good morning!”

Adam Burniston, weekend evening meteorologist on WLWT, Hearst’s NBC affiliate in Cincinnati, announced in a Dec. 29 social media post that he’s switching to weekday and weekend mornings.

“I’ll miss my friends I’ve worked with on the evening side these past few years, but excited for this new opportunity,” he wrote on social media.
