“The Central Coast community continues to show up in an extraordinary way,” said Laura Williamson, KSBW’s GM. “Events like these highlight the power of our viewers and community partners coming together for a common cause. As we recognize National Blood Donor Month, KSBW 8 is proud to support life-saving efforts and help make a real difference for those in need. The generosity and commitment we see across the Central Coast truly inspire us.”

“Each unit of blood has the potential to save up to three lives, which means this single event could help save as many as 1,236 lives,” said Laura Kamada, Senior Account Manager at Vitalant. “This was the largest media-driven blood drive ever held on the Central Coast, and we were especially encouraged to welcome 137 first-time donors. We are incredibly grateful to KSBW, our healthcare partners, and every donor who stepped up. Their support is making a real, life-saving impact in our community.”

Throughout January, KSBW 8 aired messages and live news coverage in recognition of National Blood Donor Month. People are still able to donate blood by visiting www.vitalant.org.
