Charlie Grisham, the general manager at WRTV, Scripps’ ABC affiliate in Indianapolis, posted on social media an example of how a station meteorologist scared him half to death.

“Imagine watching the newscast of the TV station you manage and seeing one of your talented storytellers intentionally walking over a slick, soapy surface while strapped into a safety harness,” he wrote.

Maci Tetrick,

Grisham wrote that Maci Tetrick, a station meteorologist/MMJ, practiced walking on surfaces slick with soapy water while carrying packages to show how Amazon’s Slip-Trip-Fall Simulator works.

“Think of it as a crash course in not crashing – where delivery drivers train for the worst winter conditions by navigating artificially icy surfaces, stepping over curbs and obstacles while your packages are in their hands,” Grisham said.

“This is why I love having Maci on our team at WRTV,” he wrote.

“She doesn’t just forecast the weather – she goes behind the scenes to show you exactly how companies prepare for it. The access she gets, the stories she uncovers, the unique angle she finds on everything. You have to see this to believe it. Thank you to the team at Amazon’s Greenfield facility for keeping Maci strapped in safely.”
