TV News Director and Marketing Manager Collaborate on ‘Looking for Good’ Segments

Chad Douglas and Shawn Dickerman are always looking for good stories to share with news viewers of WGEM, Gray’s NBC, CW and Fox affiliated stations in Quincy, Illinois.

Douglas and Dickerman, WGEM’s news director and marketing manager respectively, personally write, shoot, and edit these longer-form stories in addition to their day-to-day roles.

“Last fall, I started the segment Looking For Good where we share human interest stories that give people a reason to feel good,” Douglas said.

“We want to prove there’s still room to carve out time for positive, different-from-the-norm storytelling—and internally, we hope it sparks that same creative drive in younger MMJs,” Dickerman said.

“When I heard about Hugo’s story, I knew that would be a great story to share,” Douglas said.
