We’re sharing local TV news promos from Baltimore, Orlando, Colorado Springs, Kansas City and Savannah.

Some are weather promos, others promote the morning and late news, and some promote special reports.

Tim Campbell

To show the ups and downs of spring weather, WEEK, Gray’s NBC, ABC, and CW in Peoria, created a premise of two of its meteorologists getting into an elevator and stopping at different floors to check weather conditions.

Tim Campbell and his team at WEEK have a history of creating very imaginative and memorable TV news promos.

Brent McGough

Brent McGough, the assistant creative services director at WJCL, Hearst’s ABC affiliate in Savannah, celebrates another year of being awarded the ‘Certified Most Accurate Forecast’ in the area, now for 8 consecutive years in a post on social media.

“Protecting our community and providing life-saving information is a vital part of our role as broadcasters,” he posted.

“Forecasting and weather coverage are integral to the commitment we make to our viewers. It takes a team of skilled meteorologists to deliver this every day. A special thank you to Steve Stone for the outstanding voice read on this promo!”

Travis Lupher

Travis Lupher, creative services director at KOAA, Scripps’ NBC affiliate in Colorado Springs, dropped his station’s latest accuracy promo, timed to air with the Colorado Rockies home opener, and you’ll see why.

“Another awesome team effort, these spots should play great across all of our MLB coverage on NBC this season,” he wrote.

Eddie Gomez

Eddie Gomez, creative services director at KMBC, Hearst’s ABC affiliate in Kansas City, says this is another example of the kind of work that defines his approach to creative leadership.

“Following last month’s sweeps period, I led the development of a new “Proof of Impact” campaign for KMBC 9 Investigates — designed to reinforce the value and results of our investigative journalism at a critical time for audience engagement,” he posted.

“These moments require more than strong execution. They demand clear leadership, fast decision-making, and the ability to align multiple teams around a singular, strategic message under tight timelines.”

“I worked closely with newsroom leadership to identify the strongest editorial impact points, then shaped the campaign to ensure those moments translated into a compelling, audience-focused narrative that strengthens both trust and brand positioning.”

“This is where I do my best work — operating at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and leadership to deliver campaigns that not only perform, but elevate the standard.”

Justin Schecker

Justin Schecker, an investigative reporter at WESH, Hearst’s NBC affiliate in Orlando, posted this promo thanking Jason W. Holloway, the station’s creative services director, and Jackson Corcoran, a WESH promotions writer producer, for putting together this excellent promo.

“WESH 2 Investigates has obtained never before seen video from an unauthorized Orlando Police pursuit in February 2023 that ended with a deadly crash,” Schecker wrote.

“Our exclusive report airing Thursday at 6 takes a closer look at this case that did not receive any media coverage when it happened. The story features the compelling statement in court from the surviving victim who lost her girlfriend in the crash and the lengths she went to uncover the truth.”

Taylor Davis

Taylor Davis, a creative services producer at WBAL, Hearst’s NBC in Baltimore, posted this image promo for the station’s 11 o’clock news and one for the morning news.
