TV Sports Director Takes Over as News Anchor at Nexstar’s WTEN

Griffin Haas, the sports director at WTEN, NEWS10, Nexstar’s ABC affiliate in Albany, will be taking over as one of the station’s main anchors.

Griffin brings nearly 10 years of broadcast experience to the anchor desk, the last five as part of the NEWS10 team.

Griffin’s storytelling ability matched with his dedicated work ethic makes him the ideal candidate to cross over from the world of sports to expand his offerings at the station to help lead daily coverage.

Griffin will be anchoring evening newscasts alongside anchor Cassie Hudson.

“I’m honored to take this next step in my career at NEWS10,” Griffin said. “The Capital Region has become my home, and I’m excited to continue growing both at NEWS10 and within the community. I want to thank all of the coaches and players who allowed me to tell their stories and highlight their achievements over the past five years. The Capital Region is a special place for sports. I look forward to broadening my horizons across the Capital Region, while remaining invested in the sports community.”

You can see Griffin on the anchor desk during the 4:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. broadcasts Monday through Friday.
