KTVT, CBS Texas, couldn’t let a tornado cancel a middle school’s field trip to the Texas Rangers game for the ‘CBS Texas Weather Day’.
So after deadly storms forced Springtown Middle School students to miss Rangers Weather Day, CBS Texas and the Texas Rangers brought the experience straight to them — complete with weather experiments, surprises, explosions, and hundreds of game tickets.
Springtown Middle School is about 50 miles northwest of KTVT’s studios in Ft. Worth.
On April 25th a tornado ripped through Springtown, Texas.
Winds peaked around 105 miles per hour. The damage was significant.
A few days later, the kids from Springtown were expecting to go on a field trip to the Texas Rangers game for the ‘CBS Texas Weather Day’.
It’s a day with science experiments and baseball. But they couldn’t make it.
So KTVT brought the show to them.
