WENY’s Half-Hour Documentary Looks Back at Bloody Sunday in 1965 in Selma

Renata Stiehl, news director at WENY, and Elspeth Mizner, an anchor and MMJ at WENY, traveled to Selma, Alabama to cover the 60th anniversary of the voting rights marches, and create a half-hour special, Building Bridges Together – 60th Anniversary of Selma Voting Rights Marches.

WENY is Lilly Broadcasting ‘s ABC and CBS affiliated stations in Elmira, New York.

In a post on social media, Stiehl, says  this is a project both of them having been working on a long time.

From a historical lookback at Bloody Sunday and the March to Montgomery, to interviews in modern day with 1965 foot soldiers, they share the experience and lasting impact the actions in Selma had on the Civil Rights Movement in America.
