WLBT Earns 34 Awards from Mississippi Broadcasters for Journalism Excellence

WLBT, Gray’s NBC affiliate in Jackson, earned 34 awards spread across first, second and third place categories at the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters (MAB) Annual Excellence in Broadcasting recent competition, including Station of the Year and the First Amendment Award.

In addition to the station-wide honors, Maggie Wade was named the Dr. Elayne Hayes-Anthony Mississippi Association of Broadcasters Woman of the Year, a prestigious recognition celebrating leadership and excellence in broadcasting.

“These awards reflect the dedication, urgency, and commitment our team brings to every story we cover, serving the communities of Central and Southwest Mississippi,” said Ted Fortenberry, Regional Vice President and General Manager for Gray Media and WLBT. “We don’t do what we do for awards, but it’s meaningful when our efforts are recognized—and I’m proud to thank and congratulate our entire team for the work they do every day.
