WLBT Earns 16 First-Place Awards Including Best Station in Mississippi

WLBT, Gray’s NBC affiliate in Jackson, Mississippi, was awarded Large Market TV Station of the Year at the 2025 Mississippi Association of Broadcasters Excellence in Broadcasting awards gala held in March.
Honored with 16 first-place awards – WLBT received more 1st place honors than any other large-market station.


“These awards are a reminder of the impact of our journalists’ commitment to being On Your Side,” says Charley Jones, WLBT’s news director, Charley Jones. “Our journalists care about the people in our region and sharing their stories and it shows in their work.”
“We are excited to be recognized as the Station of the Year,” says Ted Fortenberry, Regional Vice President and General Manager. “It is one of the most prestigious awards presented at the MAB’s annual Excellence in Broadcasting gala. Our team at WLBT is committed to serving the communities across Central and Southwest Mississippi. We don’t do that to win awards, but it is certainly appreciated when our hard work and dedication is recognized.”
