ANOTHER ANCHOR VET HANGING IT UP IN MILWAUKEE

There is still the round of goodbyes, retrospectives, tributes and mounds of archival footage, but at the end of November,  WISN anchor Kathy Mykelby is retiring after 38 years.

Her career began in 1976, and 38 of her 42 years in the business were spent at the Hearst Milwaukee station.

“It seems impossible to adequately describe the significance of Kathy’s influence on local news and the viewers who rely on it,” said Jan Wade, president and general manager of WISN 12. “Her tireless work for more than four decades is a lasting tribute to the very best our profession strives to deliver.”

Cake will likely be served.
