In Houston, all of the Houston stations were quickly on the Officer involved shooting that occurred Monday afternoon.

They were already in their 5 PM newscasts when Five police officers were injured during a firefight at a residence.

The violence broke out when a group of narcotics and patrol officers attempted to serve a search warrant at a residence where heroin was allegedly being sold, Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo told reporters later at a press conference.

Officers were met with gunfire as they entered the home in southeast Houston, but authorities are unsure how many suspects were shooting.

At least two suspects were killed in the incident.

By 6 PM the stations were quickly turning around video shot by neighbors.

Expect to see more video of the incident released in coming days once dash-cam and body-cam video are released.

Hats off to the Assignment Editors in this market who were on the ball when this went down who got troops in place quickly while ensuring live coverage. These guys are often overlooked. Good job.
