Former CBS CEO Les Moonvespunishment for losing his job after trying to lead a failed effort to pull the corporation away from the Redstone family was to get only $12.5 million in cash and stock compensation last year.

We should all fail so badly.

The year before, Moonves got $69 million in stock and cash compensation.

What a comedown, right?

A regulatory filing said that if he hadn’t forfeited a chunk of his 2018 compensation “pursuant to his separation agreement with the company,” Moonves would have received $47.1 million for his eight months on the job last year.

Stop, the tears are starting to flow like wine.

He still wants the $120 million in severance that company stripped him off after he was forced out last year over sexual misconduct allegations.

There.

That’s the executive spirit we know and love.
