10News WTSP, TEGNA’s CBS affiliate in Tampa/St. Petersburg, is looking for a dynamic social media expert to help engage our audience with our broadcast show content and talent on multiple platforms and optimize and grow the 10News WTSP YouTube Channel.
The Social Media Coordinator will create engaging posts that take our audience on a journey and help our journalism reach a wider audience through edited images, video and/or audio elements based on station style guidelines.
On YouTube, this person curates content, writes video headlines and descriptions with SEO in mind and executes strategies under the direction of the Managing Editor of Digital to grow subscribers, views, and revenue.
The ideal candidate has worked at a digital media company or has prior experience as the social media representative of a company.
They love creating video, analyzing metrics, and coaching teammates.
We’re looking for a strategic thinker who can design the next iteration of our digital video storytelling strategy on our YouTube channel and social media accounts.
This person is a self-starter with excellent communication skills who thrives on experimenting with the latest tips, tools and research.
The Social Media Coordinator will also create original digital content for WTSP’s YouTube channel as directed by the Managing Editor of Digital.
Own station’s social programming and maintain a consistent brand voice across different platforms.
Define social strategies under guidance of ME, Digital and Director of Content and help coach on-air talent with their social presence
Curate and optimize YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.
Plan, craft, publish, and monitor posts on social channels such as Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram
Work with the brand talent to develop social strategies and a truly authentic presence
Consult regularly with all content producers to define (and redefine) social strategy in the rapidly shifting social space
Monitor and engage in day-to-day social media and livestreams, be able to translate that information into content
Edit and post video content packaged for each social platform
Create weekly and monthly social media analytics reports
Identify new trends and products in social media, and test and advocate for change as needed
Other duties as assigned by the senior news leadership team

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
3 years of social media experience for a brand or agency
Track record of driving brand awareness, audience growth, reach, and engagement using organic and paid social media
Fluency and a passionate obsession with social media programming, metrics, and analytics tools
Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite with proficiency in Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator and/or Premiere or similar software
Strong Mac and PC software/OS proficiency
Ability to work independently and multi-task confidently under tight deadlines.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, weekends and holiday shifts is a must.
