Joe Crain’s 15 years with Sinclair’s WICS in Springfield, IL ended abruptly in early June when he went on the air and sharply criticized his corporate bosses for their overused and fear-mongering “Code Red,” a sentiment shared by many of the station’s more discerning viewers.
While the station and Sinclair backed away from the latest of the corporate’s paranoia-inducing projects, they also dumped Crain.
He’s landed on his feet.
Crain is now the $75,000-a-year director of public programs at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield.
Crain will oversee the facility’s public events and develop ideas for public programming, logistics and marketing.
Not a bad landing spot at all.
