If there’s one thing that doesn’t look like 2022 is all the reporters and anchors either working from home or solo anchors.
The Omicron wave hit the nation right before the holiday and peaked last week.
Anchors at networks started separately and as we reported, reporters in some local markets stayed home.
At CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota posted a photo of herself in a solo studio.
CBS This Morning required anchors have negative Covid tests to get on set. Correspondent Jamie Yuccas posted how grateful she was to be negative so she could fill in for Gayle King.
CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen continued with a normal set outside in Times Square. Both are vaccinated but stood apart.
As we understand it, this isn’t permanent on a local or network level. But it will continue until this wave subsides.
