SPORTS SHORTS….REALLY!

We don’t often do sports here outside of moves inside local sports departments, but there are a couple of items we just can’t pass by.

Al Michaels is forsaking NBC and “Sunday Night Football” for…wait for it…Amazon Prime Video..

He and newly hired Kirk Herbstreit will be calling the plays on Amazon’s Thursday night football package.

Expect an official announcement this week.

And try to keep you morning coffee from shooting out your nose as you read that ousted CNN president Jeff Zucker evidently thinks his future – whatever there might be of it – is in sports.

He’s rumored to be in talks with several outfits in the sports area.

While at CNN, he did assume oversight of Turner Sports, so it isn’t a completely new arena for him.

And who might these “sports sector” players be?

Well..  as we just mentioned, Amazon has taken control of the NFL’s “Thursday Night Football” and then there’s Apple which has struck a deal with Major League Baseball to show a package of baseball games on Friday nights in the coming 2022 season.
