NEW YORK’S TELEMUNDO MAKES NEWS WITH WINS MAJOR EMMY WINS
The tuxes and glitzy gowns were on display at the Marquis Marriott, and so were the trophies.
The New York Emmy Awards held its 65th annual presentation on Saturday night.
Dozen of awards were handed out in many categories.
Among the winners:
- For News Excellence, WABC and Telemundo 47/WNJU were selected.
- Each of those outlets took home a Best News Anchor award: Sade Baderinwa (WABC) and Darling Burdiez (WNJU)
- WABC’s “Eyewitness News at 5” took home the trophy for Best Evening Newscast: Larger Market.
- Best Newscast in Small/Medium Market: News 10 ABC at 5 p.m./WTEN in Albany.
- WCBS and Telemundo 47 won in the Best Morning Newscast category.
- Spectrum News 1 Albany was recognized as the Best Morning Newscast among smaller and medium markets.
- Telemundo 47 also was victorious as Best Weekend Newscast and Daytime Newscast for their noon broadcast.
