HEARST HIRES A NEW ANCHOR IN KANSAS CITY

Hearst’s KMBC in Kansas City is bringing on Brya Berry as a weekday co-anchor for KMBC’s 5 pm newscast and the 9 pm news on co-owned KCWE.

She most recently was an investigative reporter at Nexstar’s KFOR in Oklahoma City, OK.

She is replacing Haley Harrison, who abandoned tv news for the world of PR.

“Brya’s extensive experience as an anchor and reporter will help us continue to provide our viewers with the most up-to-date and accurate news in the Kansas City area,” said KMBC News Director Dan O’Donnell. “We look forward to the energy and expertise that she will bring to our newscasts.”

She’s thrilled

“I’m thrilled to be joining the talented team at KMBC 9 News,” said Berry.

And remember, she starts in May.
