I’m sure this has happened to other local TV creative services producers.
You’re looking for music for a project you’re working on. As you scroll thorough the cuts in your production music library, one cut jumps out at you.
It won’t work for the project you’re working on, but you file it away knowing the right project will come along where this cut of music will be perfect.
As Grant Newkirk says, “The creative process can come about in weird ways.”
Newkirk is the promotions manager at KAIT, Gray’s ABC, NBC and CW Plus affiliated station in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Newkirk says he was searching through the station’s Universal Music Group’s production music library for a project he’s already forgotten about when he came across a cut and “knew I had to use it for a promo for Good Morning Region 8,” he says.
“We try to focus our new morning show promo around the new school year so that had some impact on the timing of it all,” he says.
