I am connected to 18,004 people on LinkedIn, many of whom are in the broadcast industry.
So, I get to see what these people post on LinkedIn and it has become THE place for television news and marketing folks to share their work.
They value exposure because they’re proud of what they’ve created.
Local TV marketing and creative services folks love to see the creative promos done by other stations around the country.
We look for ideas, premises, copy points, production tips, etc. that we can borrow and customize for our station.
WTAE, Pittsburgh

John Simone, creative services producer at WTAE, Hearst’s ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, posted on social media that the station just wrapped up a new morning campaign.
We started with a simple idea mornings are chaos. Especially for moms. It’s not that people don’t care about the news, it’s that there’s a lot going on at the same time.
So we tried to build something that felt more like real life. Shot a lot outside the studio, focused on movement, and then connected it back to what viewers actually engage with weather, traffic, and breaking news.
Really happy with how this one came together. Always appreciate the team effort on these.
WOFL, Orlando

T.J. Springer, a meteorologist for WOFL, the Fox-owned station in Orlando, posted this promo for the weekend morning newscasts, which typically don’t get much promotion.
But in this case, WOFL’s weekend morning newscasts are #1 in the Nielsen ratings in March in Central Florida.
So happy to say that we are the #1 weekend AM newscast in Central Florida. It’s all thanks to YOU. ❤️ Thanks for waking up with us each weekend on Good Day.
KABC, Los Angeles
Few local TV stations have their own news helicopters anymore. But if there was any market that needed one, it would be Los Angeles.

This promo posted by Kris Ellison Baete, VP of marketing and programming at KABC, the ABC-owned station in Los Angeles, makes the case you need a helicopter to cover car chases and fires in the area.
Great work from the team on this new spot for AIR7. Local news without limits.
KXAN, Austin

Erik Candiani, the director of creative brand and marketing at KXAN, Nexstar’s NBC affiliate in Austin, posted a compilation of four promos for the morning news, evening news, investigations and weather.
Super proud of the team… fun campaign that nailed the energy I was looking for!

KPRC, Houston

Wes Rodda, the marketing director for KPRC, Graham Media’s NBC affiliate in Houston, posted this promo saying, “Investigations shouldn’t be a segment. They should be the standard.”
Too often, accountability gets boxed into a segment—or dressed up with a label to make it feel bigger than it is.
People expect more from us. They should.
At KPRC 2 we’re done treating it like an add-on. We’re making a new commitment: our investigative team at the center, not the margins.
And we’re going all-in on it in a way you don’t really see in local news right now.
When something’s broken, we’re not moving on. We’re asking: Who’s responsible? Why hasn’t it been fixed? What happens next?
If this is how you think about journalism, let’s talk. We’re hiring.
