Ned Perme, who’s been forecasting weather for Sinclair’s KATV for the past 34 years in Little Rock, AR says it’s time to move on.

Perme began his broadcast career in 1977 in Mobile, AL and made his way to Little Rock in 1984.
“My career has been a dream come true. For more than three decades, Arkansans have invited me into their homes each evening and have trusted me as their weatherman. It has truly been a privilege and I cherish my relationship with the viewers. But all good things must come to an end, and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to sign-off for the last time.”

He’s been chief meteorologist for the station for the entire 34 year run.

While his actual departure date has yet to be announced, we’re betting that he’ll stick around for one more book and a month-long series of archive clips, reminiscences and tributes.

It’s how tv works.
