Those of you looking to expand your careers and live in Sin City now have a golden opportunity.
Both the News Director and Executive Producer for KBLR (Telemundo) are out.
Word comes from insiders who say the jobs were posted Friday, August 31st.
News Director Xochitl Sandoval and Executive Producer Javier Palmera flew the coop two weeks ago.
Seems the station has been a revolving door this last year after at least 9 reporters and producers departed, some with no job lined up.
Media Moves Reports “Trouble began reportedly with complaints against Sandoval and Palmera which ranged from “alleged harassment” and a reported hostile working environment”
An H-R firm was hired but staffers say things worsened. No word if the departure of both was mutual or if they were cut.
Sandoval had been with Telemundo in Dallas and Las Vegas since 2003, but had been news director in Las Vegas since February 2014.
Palmera joined Telemundo Las Vegas as EP in March 2017. He had previously worked as a producer for WFLA-TV and WRMD Telemundo Tampa.
The following statement was issued about their exit:
“Xochitl Sandoval and Javier Palmera have decided to leave Telemundo Las Vegas. We are thankful for their commitment to Telemundo Las Vegas and wish them the best in their future endeavors.”
Senior Vice President of News for Telemundo Station, Group Ozzie Martínez said he would be heading the news department until a replacement is hired.
