WFAA (ABC) Dallas, Texas Anchor Cynthia Izaguirre found herself in a bit of hot water after laughing off-camera while her co-anchor read a piece about Snapchat apologizing over mislabeling New York City as “Jewtropolis.”

It happened last Thursday during the 5 p.m. Newscast of WFAA‘s News.

Nothing else was mentioned during the cast but at the end of the 6  p.m., Izaguirre said she had been “getting several tweets” about what she said and at 6 p.m. and told watchers:

“I had a completely mis-timed laugh,” she said. “That was not my intention and I am so sorry for anyone I might have offended. Keep tweeting me. I will tweet you back directly.”

Dallas-Fort Worth Blogger, Ed Bark aka,”Uncle Barky” mentioned the incident in his entry last week.

No word if the apology was ordered by the TEGNA owned station to do so or if she did it on her own.

However, Insiders say she is the “Darling of the Newsroom” and “can do no wrong”.

That was obviously the same story at her former station in Albuquerque, New Mexico, KOAT (ABC).

She went viral there back in 2007 with a blooper introducing a man who had topped Mount Everest.

She said: “But he’s gay. I mean, excuse me, he’s blind.”

That flub has more than 10 million views on YouTube.

Credit due for her apology then and now, but once again was this an on-air flub or another example of someone not being ready for a top ten market?

Only time will tell.
