Oh, you crazy Weather Channel!
On the one hand, you give us incredible innovations like the virtual storm surge video seen here.
On the other hand…..this.
As for the former, a year ago, this wouldn’t have been possible.
In fact, the specific demonstration seen here wouldn’t have been possible a month ago.
The Weather Channel only finished the new “green screen immersive studio” at its Atlanta headquarters last week, prior to Florence’s arrival.
And we must say….”Bravo”
On the other hand….what hell was going on with Mike Seidel in Wilmington, NC?
Getting busted on Twitter is about as humiliating as it gets
“So dramatic! Dude from the weather channel bracing for his life, as 2 dudes just stroll past. #HurricaneFlorence”
The folks in Atlanta have an answer.
“It’s important to note that the two individuals in the background are walking on concrete, and Mike Seidel is trying to maintain his footing on wet grass, after reporting on-air until 1:00 a.m. ET this morning and is undoubtedly exhausted.”
He could have stood on the sidewalk, too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
