CITY GIVES HONOR TO VETERAN CLEVELAND JOURNALIST
A member of the 19 News/WOIO team was honored by the Cleveland city council.
Harry Boomer was recognized for his service in the community throughout his decades-long career.
Boomer was presented with a plaque by Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb.
The veteran broadcaster has called Cleveland home for more than 30 years.
Boomer’s presentation was highlighting his volunteering and humanitarian efforts in the city.
For his on-air work, Boomer has been inducted into the Broadcasters’ Hall of Fame and is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
His first stint in Ohio came in 1988 when he was manager and programmer at WBXT-AM in Canton.
