NEW CAREER FOR AWAITS FORMER ALBANY ANCHOR

Anchor Solomon Syed has left WTEN in Albany. He also left the news business as he was named to a communications role for New York state.

While Syed did not post about the career change on social media, he did update his LinkedIn page with the new position.

Syed spent 10 months at WTEN, the Nexstar station. He previously worked for Spectrum News in Albany. During that seven-year stint, he anchored and hosted his own show– “In Focus with Solomon Syed.”

Syed has been named deputy commissioner of public information in the Office of Children and Family Services.

He started the new position on Oct. 10, The Albany Times Union said.

Syed earned a law degree from Quinnipiac University.
