HOUSTON LOSING ANOTHER LOCAL FAVORITE

Another familiar face to Houston tv viewers will be disappearing and heading west.

After 17 years, Rachel McNeill will be leaving her morning co-anchor slot at Graham Media’s KPRC and heading west to Arizona, where her husband is the new Chief of Cardiology and Director of Adult Medicine at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

Don’t go into mourning yet, Houston.

She plans to stick around until January, so there are still a couple of ratings periods and lots of retrospectives in the offing.

“Deciding to say goodbye after 17 years with KPRC is one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make,” McNeill told Houston blogger Mike McGuff. “Since coming home to Houston, I’ve been given incredible opportunities and worked with the best of the best.”

“She will be missed, but we can only wish her and her family the best as they head out to a new adventure in Arizona,” KPRC 2 Vice President/General Manager Jerry Martin said. “I am sure we will find a time later this year to say goodbye.”

Heh.

We have no doubt about that
