After seven years, five of them as prime-time co-anchor, at Nexstar’s KTVX in Salt Lake City, Kim Fischer signed off last week to begin another career in early childhood development.

“I just want to say thank you, thank you for allowing me into your homes every night, for trusting me enough to share your personal stories with me, your successes,  your tragedies, your experiences, they have all made me a better person,” said Fischer. “You have helped me understand life outside of my own little bubble, you have created a level of empathy in me that very few humans will ever get the opportunity to experience. For that I will be forever grateful.”

She’ll be working with the Waterford Institute and its upstart program that helps 4-5 year olds prepare for kindergarten.
