Tears were copious on the set when anchor Brittany Pelletz announced her imminent departure from Nexstar’s KTAB in Abilene, TV where she has anchored for the past five years.

She’s going home to Florida.

“It’s a job and responsibility that I’ve loved and will always cherish. I’ll miss so much about Abilene and the Big Country, a place I’ve called home for the last five years, and a total of eight. I want you to know how grateful I am for all of the support and encouragement you’ve given me during my time at as a journalist in Abilene. Seeking truth, keeping you informed, and sharing inspiring stories about people in our community has been a dream come true,” she said between sniffles during her goodbye.

She started her career in TV a decade ago at KRBC.

She then moved to Abliene where she started a family.

She was on maternity leave just last summer.

The proverbial national search underway for her replacement.

Her last day is March 15, a week from Friday.
