IN BRIEF….”YEAH, THAT’LL DO IT” EDITION

Hearst’s WISN kicks off a 9 pm evening news hour starting April 1.

It will be on the station’s digital sub-channel 12.2 (the “Justice Milwaukee”-branded channel. Heh.)and will be anchored by Derrick Rose, with chief meteorologist Mark Baden and sports director Dan Needles.

The new program joins a crowded lineup of 9 PM newscasts along with WITI and WDJT.

Starting today, Univision’s KWEX in San Antonio will launch  “Primera Hora Central Texas,” a program providing local viewers with Spanish-language news, weather and traffic.

Viewers can catch the new show from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m.

The program launch in simultaneous with morning program launches at Univision stations in Dallas and Houston.

Tribune’s WTIC in Hartford, CT is expanding its Monday-Friday “FOX 61 Morning News” by one hour – extending it to 11 am.

The program will now air from 4 am to 11 am.
