A STATEMENT REGARDING LEE CRUSE
“After careful consideration, Scripps’ WLEX has decided to part ways with Lee Cruse.
WLEX is committed to reflecting our diverse audiences through our coverage and to upholding equitable, diverse and inclusive practices in our workplaces.
We wish Lee the best in his future endeavors.
General Manager Pat Dalbey has released a statement:
This wasn’t a decision made lightly. LEX 18 is committed to reflecting our diverse audiences through our coverage and to upholding equitable, diverse, and inclusive practices in our workplace. We stand by our commitment to a respectful work environment and respect for all of our viewers.”
Cruse was the morning co-anchor at the station who was spending this week on the sidelines due his ill-advised attempt at humor last week following a story.
The story, about the firing of a BBC disc jockey who tweeted a racist image referencing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new baby, ended with Cruse laughing and referring to the fired bozo as “my new favorite disc jockey.”
And likethat….a career in tatters.
