FORMER NEWS DIRECTOR NOW DIRECTS “NEXT GENERATION” TV

Former tv news director Kerry Oslund is the newly-named vice president of strategy and business development for Scripps.

Oslund, who ran tv newsrooms in Atlanta, GA and Portland, OR in the course of a career spanning four decades and companies ranging from Disney to Gannett (now Tegna) to Tribune, will lead the company’s next-generation television efforts and will help identify, develop and evaluate investment and partnership opportunities.

Oslund was most recently vice president of strategy and business development for Tribune Broadcasting.

“I’ve always admired Scripps for its principled approach to business and its leadership team’s commitment to journalism as a bedrock of value creation,” said Oslund, according to the press release.
